ALLYSE YIRAN LI

Li is a designer and a developer, attuned to middle density. Her dual track specialization as a designer for interiors through the urban scale is met with real estate development. Her background in urban design and urban land economics provide a unique perspective, where critical urban theory intersects with the rigid, quantitative framework of real estate development feasibility analysis. 

Driven by a fascination with alternative housing models, democratic space, and structural equity, she aims to redefine the approach to Highest and Best Use by expanding the traditional boundaries of financial data to include critical social variables. Her work highlights how conventional appraisal values can overlook deeply rooted human knowledge and experience, advocating instead, for systematically mapping the qualitative dimensions that critically inform lived environments. By reconciling development feasibility with livability, she introduces a perspective centred on the spatial economics of the internal life, amongst other critical forces that shape the built environment of housing production.

Grounded in over 10 years of multidisciplinary practice and an inherently interdisciplinary academic background, she uncovers the hidden regulatory and ideological assumptions built into standard financial artifacts, treating current socioeconomic frictions not only as spreadsheet constraints, but as a structural variables to be proactively redesigned.
